FuMPFest 2024 |
Bow to the COG!In 2024 FuMPFest returned to Con on the Cob to deal with an invasion by the Consortium of Genius who used this event as the first stop on their world takeover tour. But all was not lost as members of The FuMP managed to escape from the Secret Lab, and Devo even managed to steal some of their Pinkertonium to give away as a Bingo prize. |
Guests |
Guest of HonorConsortium of Genius - The Consortium of Genius, led by the maniacal Dr. Milo T. Pinkerton III invaded FuMPFest to take over! Along with Dr. Z, Dr. Winchester, Dr. Glitch, and Drumbot, the COG put on an epic show and then moved on to take over the world, and then the whole solar system. Performing Artists2d6 - Local nerdcore darlings 2d6 returned to melt our faces with their nerdy rhymes. Carla Ulbrich - Professional smart aleck Carla Ulbrich closed out the music for the weekend. Holy Bongwater - Jace McLain and Julia Larson of Nuclear Bubble Wrap did their first full concert at FuMPFest. Pastor Hastur - Newcomer Pastor Hastur serenaded us with classic rock parodies about Lovecrafian lore and thankfully didn't summon Cthulhu. Ross Childs - No longer local to FuMPFest, Ross Childs came out from Chicago to rock us once more. Steve Goodie - Nashville's comedian and record producer Steve Goodie returned to FuMPFest to perform his Big Dumb Show. |

Other EventsOpening Ceremonies - Welcome to the con! Andy Hopp ran the ceremonies and then Insane Ian and Devo Spice said a few words, but we weren't able to screen the video contest entries because the sound system wasn't set up yet. The FuMPCast Live - Con on the Cob starts on Thursday, so Devo and Luke took the opportunity to do a live episode of the Funny Music Podcast from FuMPFest complete with a live performance by Ross Childs. Live Podcasts - Done mostly so they don't miss a week, Devo recorded a live episode of Manic Mondays which featured a segment of Luke and Carrie's Bad Rapport, with Insane Ian filling in for Carrie. Movie Time - Devo Spice screened his comedy short Talk to the Hand. We got to see the three entries in the video contest. And the good folks making the documentary about The FuMP gave us a sneak peak of their upcoming project. Dumb Parody Ideas - A rapid-fire event where contestants perform snippets of dumb parodies they came up with. This year's winner was a FuMPFest regular and past winner RJ who did a callback to last year's event with a song about Vegetable Jesus. The FuMP Game Show - Luke Ski hosted this Jeopardy-like game show featuring contestants from the audience. The winners of each round faced off against each other in a $25,000 Pyramid-like bonus round. Congratulations to this year's winner, RJ! The State of the FuMP - Devo Spice reviewed the past year of FuMP updates and gave some behind the scenes information about the inner workings of The FuMP. Q&A with the COG - Devo Spice interviewed all four members of the Consortium of Genius and managed to survive. He then interviewed four random congoers for some reason. The Logan Awards - Insane Ian hosted the 14th annual Logan Awards, which featured live performances by the great Luke Ski, Steve Goodie, Holy Bongwater, and more. Escape from the Secret Lab - Devo Spice, Insane Ian, Chris Mezzolesta, and the great Luke Ski gave a command performance for Dr. Pinkerton and managed to escape with their lives!. The FuMP Showcase - A chance for any other artists in attendance to take the stage. This year we had performances by Soggy Potato Chips, Sulu, and the great Luke Ski. Closing Ceremonies - All good things must come to an end. We did the raffle drawings, announced the video contest winner, and Andy Hopp gave out several Corny Awards to people at the convention. |
